About

My name is Dave Parkinson, I’m the owner/operator of DP Decks. We’re based in quiet Summerland, BC and have been completing projects all over the beautiful South Okanagan for seven years.

Experience
Eighteen years ago, I got a job at a local golf course maintaining the grounds, making the golf and garden surrounds as pristine as possible. After years of experience gained with heavy duty machinery, irrigation, and landscape maintenance, I got my first job with a landscape construction company. Ever since then I’ve been in the construction industry, working here in the Okanagan and in Alberta gaining experience with; building decks, fences, outdoor structures, patios, retaining walls, irrigation systems, and creating fully landscaped outdoor living spaces. While living and working in Calgary, I also went to school at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology for Carpentry. I am also certified in Landscape Horticulture. Being in a seasonal work industry, I needed to find work to do during the winter months when work couldn’t be done outside. For the last ten winters I’ve worked various construction jobs from new framing to renovations. I love working with my hands, solving problems, and bringing old and faded spaces back to bright and beautiful areas that clients can love and enjoy again.

Customer Satisfaction
From the first meeting to the last walk through of the completed project, customer satisfaction is the number one priority. After the first consultation, you will get an estimate sent to you as quick as possible with all the details of various types of materials and colours you can pick from. Drawings can also be created for the project so you can get a great idea of what the layout will look like. Next is the contract and deposit process once everything has been agreed upon. Once the project starts, we pride ourselves on site cleanliness and client communication. If any surprises show up, or changes need to be made, you will be contacted immediately. Once the project is finished and cleaned up, a final walk through will be done, and you’ll be given instructions for caring or maintaining your newly renovated space!
